MaNizzle and the Big Sneeze

[How do you discuss life and death with children? The following is a loving allegory of spiritual truths, combined with a few creative untruths/humor. It reflects a growing spiritual belief about what is real and only imagined. Can you find the 2 untruths? It's the rough draft of a children's coloring book. Comments are welcome.]

Once upon a time...

In fact, once before time...

God sneezed...

And something amazing happened.

Out went all this incredible energy and light and time and space...

little things and big things, everything was there.

And it mixed all up, and different things came together to make even more wonderful things.

And it would then separate. And come together again.

It seemed to thrive on making even more new things all by itself.

Over a very long time we got moons, planets, stars, galaxies, and universes.

And so much of it was invisible!

And so much of a thing you couldn’t see, that we now call love.

Even God was amazed.

He loved to surf here and there, watching all the wonderful things,

and the new ways they combined and the new things they made.

He went from that corner of that universe to this corner of our universe.

And He came upon a wonderful blue planet we call Earth.

It was amazing.

Things had mixed together so beautifully, from tiny wonders,

to huge landscapes, to plants as far as the eye could see, to billions of animals...

And he saw innocence and wonder and caring in one species of animals,

especially two who called themselves Adam and Eve.

God spent hours watching these beautiful creatures interact.

But he also wanted to visit other things in the universe.

He wanted to watch over the world,

but wanted to be there and in other places at the same time.

So He decided to, only once, split Himself,

and called His other half His Son, the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit would watch over this world, and allow God to always see it.

God so loved the world He gave it to his only begotten Son.*

And God told the Holy Spirit...

“These wonderful creatures were made by their physical parents.

I now create a huge basket of My Thoughts.

Each of these are part of Me and part of You.

I have put 2 of these eternal thoughts into the bodies of Adam and Eve.

At birth, into every one of the children they make,

You will place one of these eternal loving thoughts.”

And from that time on, into every human birth,

the Holy Spirit would put one of these loving thoughts forever in the mind of God.

Within each, the physical and the eternal came together.

God became human, so that humans could become God.

And it was good.

The eternal within every human, was at the same time,

both separate and the same as the Holy Spirit.

Like holograms, the light was separate and all together at the same time.

Every loving thought is true.

And for thousands of years these loving thoughts were placed into human bodies

...to visit for a while.

And it was good.

Because these loving thoughts were forever in the mind of God,

it was like everyone carried an eternal part of God or the Holy Spirit within them.

And God could also know and experience the love that resulted.

Humans were happy and without fear,

because they knew the real part of them that was created was eternal,

and that they were only visiting these bodies.

But along came a human who forgot.

Into eternity, where all is one, there crept a tiny, mad idea, at which the Son of God remembered not to laugh.*

Fear grew...and to return peace,

the Holy Spirit sent loving thoughts to act as prophets to teach peace.

Among these were Jesus, who learned or remembered his lesson perfectly well.

Jesus taught love and caring and peace by example.

Because that is the best way to teach anything.

When it came time, Jesus asked his loving brother

Judas to begin the death of His body.

Once life left the body, Jesus taught, by example,

the most important lesson He could teach.

He showed the world, with his resurrection,

how all His brothers would also be resurrected when their body returned to ashes.

Tears of joy returned to the earth.

But over time, many again forgot they were

loving thoughts forever in the mind of God.

In 1965 it was obvious there was again too much fear,

and that the love of God was not being taught correctly.

So Jesus returned, to give a book that taught humans how miracles work.

Miracles are loving communications between the eternal...

between the souls of brothers and the Holy Spirit, and between brothers.

And it was good.

Then one day, on May 18, 2005, the Holy Spirit

reached for a loving thought to place within a newborn, but...

the Holy Spirit sneezed...

And believe it or not, instead of going into the next newborn baby,

the loving thought went into a newborn kitten that came to be known as MaNizzle.

And everyone was confused.

What should be done about this mistake??

The Holy Spirit talked to the Indian Shaman,

who talked about the problem with the mother spirit of the physical, Gaia.

It was decided that the loving thought could not be removed,

and would remain during the physical life of the kitten.

The result was that the kitten found a new home with a teacher named Robert,

who found the loving animal at the local ASPCA.

Robert knew all about miracles, but quickly decided this was not a regular cat.

MaNizzle fetched like a dog, knew how to play mouse hockey,

and would spend hours looking into Robert's eyes...

who started understanding the thoughts of the loving kitten.

This was possible because miracles are communications between two loving thoughts.

The physical body isn't important, whether it is furry with whiskers and four feet,

or tall and hairy with ten toes.

It was in this way, that MaNizzle shared with Robert

“Manizzle and the Big Sneeze,” which you are now reading.

...MaNizzle is getting very old. What happens when her little body gives out?

If your name was Jesus, and you had a little brother,

what would you do with an angel?

*Quotes from “A Course in Miracles,” T-12.III.8:1 and T-27.VIII.6:2

MaNizzle has been a true blessing in my life,

and was so helpful getting me through the pandemic.

Her little body died the same day I received my second Covid shot.
